May 1-2, 2010, brought lots & lots of water to Tennessee and the surrounding states this year. I've heard reports of 12"-18" of rain. Wow! It was certainly more than enough to cause flooding. Here are some pictures of some local flood waters...
This is Old Hwy 51 as you are leaving Brighton headed north...
This is Hwy 51 North leaving Brighton... the north lanes aren't visible at all! You can also see the warehouse/camper area completely flooded.
Again the north lanes of Hwy 51...
These are from Crockett & Haywood counties. My sister sent me these (thanks!).

These pictures, as well as others I've seen, are absolutely amazing. The video footages are surreal, too. Here are some other facts to remember...
*Our neighbor (4 lots down) had water up to their door knobs on Saturday morning.
*The streets of Covingon flooded, as well as some businesses.
*Some residents of the naval base in Millington had to be evacuated due to flooding & rising waters.
*Downtown Nashville was underwater (and still is).
*The Opryland Hotel had to be evacuated, and Opry Mills flooded with cars underwater in the parking lot. Just saw pictures from the beautiful Opryland Hotel... WOAH! Water everywhere! Lower levels completely flooded... water up to tops of doorways... "delta" & greenhouse areas completely underwater... could only see tops of lightposts in the Opry Mills lots... undescribable!
*Mom was stranded (in a hotel thankfully!) trying to get home from Nashville for 2 nights.
*I heard one of the weather reporters state that Tennessee received as much rain in one weekend as we would normally receive in a month!
