UT basketball weekend

This weekend, our friends from Knoxville, David & Carol, came to visit. We enjoyed hanging out Friday night, and eating locally. On Saturday, we trekked down to Oxford for the UT/Ole Miss basketball game. We had a lot of fun! It was our first trip to Oxford & the Ole Miss campus. What a cute town, and nice campus! We enjoyed greeting the team as they loaded the bus for the game, looking around town, & eating on the square. The game was great with Tennessee pulling out a victory! Afterward, we drove around the campus, and made a stop in Memphis on the way back to eat some world famous Rendezvous BBQ... YUMMY! We are so glad Dave & Carol came to visit! We had an awesome weekend!

The Smith's helped us get tickets to the game, and their family went, too. Cade & Christopher pretty much had a "play date" during the game! :)

The boys really enjoyed playing games with David... and showing off their playroom, too (including Hudson's hunting DVD! ha!).

Snow, round 3

A few inches of snow fell late yesterday & last night. This is a heavier snow, but pretty all the same :)

Basketball

Hudson is playing basketball for the first time this winter. He's really enjoying it! He has mentioned a time or two that he gets "tired" running up & down the court, but I really think overall he likes the pace of the game. He's learning the game & having a good time, and that's all that matters! :)

Daddy made an effort to be home earlier than usual, so we all got to go out & play in the snow together before supper. Hooray!

Hudson made several snow angels, and they were so pretty! This powdery snowfall was perfect for my little snow angel.

Callie loved sledding! Especially when she was by herself & she could lay down on the whole sled. Plus she had Daddy all to herself then :) She just laid there...

Callie loved walking around in the snow, too, which was somewhat surprising. She didn't necessarily like it when she fell... if she fell backward, she had a hard time getting up with her snowsuit on...if she fell forward, the snow was deep enough to get all in her face! She just kept going, though! And I don't know which "hand-me-down angel" this snowsuit came from, but it is wonderful!

Early school day

Things to do on an early release day from school due to inclement weather...

1) Lay on the table - play and/or kick your feet

(One of her new favorite things to do these days :)

2) Play the Wii

(And be "awesome" like Hudson!)

3) Try on new things... like Momma's gloves

4) Hang out on the dog's bed

(Yea... not an activity we encourage... ha!)

5) Wait & watch for the snow!

We didn't have to wait too long. It started about 12:45.

Callie wanted her picture made at the door, too. After I took the picture of her brothers, she backed up to the door & smiled!

6) Watch a movie... SPIRIT, of course!... our favorite right now

7) Check the snowfall again after a good nap... WOW! Let's go play!

Daisy is 9

Our Daisy-girl is 9-years-old today! We got her a few months after we bought our first house in Knoxville. She was 6-weeks-old then. She's always been a really good girl, and so sweet! She still gets so excited when people come over to our house, and she loves for the boys to play with her in the backyard. We love, love, love her! (The kids do, too :)

NOTE: She looks like she's snarling in this picture, but I think she was getting ready to sneeze! ha!

Snow Days!

Hudson just knew when he came home from school on Friday that it was going to snow over the weekend. I don't know when he became a meteorologist, but he was right! We enjoyed 2-3" of snow (I'm guessing) Sunday night - Tuesday. What fun! Too bad Daddy had to go on into work, but the boys made the best of the snow. Hudson stayed out all morning, with Cade & with the neighbors (Thx, neighbors!). He had a marvelous time! Cade didn't last quite as long, but had fun, nonetheless :) Miss Callie Jewel didn't make it out into the snow this go-round. Maybe next time!

"Nigh-Nigh"

Callie is 16 months old now! Slow down, girlie!! She is so funny & fun to watch. She's beginning to try to mimic what we say - if she can't get the right sounds out, you can tell by her voice intonation :) Her latest vocab, though, is "nigh-nigh" (night-night). And she loves to give kisses. What a sweetie!

Funnies

**Callie has become quite the copycat herself. One day over Christmas break, I was asking Cade to do something. He, in a very silly way :), propped his hand on the stool next to him, looked at me, smiled, and shook his head "unh-unh" (no). Callie, who was standing right next to him, propped her hand on the stool, looked at me, smiled, and shook her head "unh-unh". Oh my!!

**When Cade's G-Daddy asked him where he wanted to go eat lunch after preschool the next day, Cade said, "Mex-i-ken. Yea! Mex-i-ken! Like Ken & Barbie." (from TS3, of course) Ha!

Happy New Year 2011!

Hudson and Callie were all into the fireworks. Cade - not so much. He did hold a sparkler for a few seconds, but his picture was blurry. He stood back with his ears covered & watched.
