School's out! It's Christmastime! And all three children are sick :( After a weekend trip to the doctor it was determined that 1) Hudson has strep = 10 days of antibiotic, 2) Cade's lungs are clearing, but not quite there yet = continue breathing treatments for few more days, 3) Callie has infection in both ears = 10 days of anitbiotic... Well, hopefully Howie & I can stay well (we're doubling up on vitamins! ha!), so we'll all be medicated, but better by Christmas. :)

Preschool Christmas program
Cade was so excited to sing in his preschool's Christmas program this year! Take a look at our little man packing up Santa's sleigh with his drum...
I did have one "beef" with the program this year, though. In order to save time (I'm assuming, because the school grows a grade every year), all of the 3-year-old classes preformed together. That was too many little ones up there at one time. It was distracting, I'm afraid, and I don't think the kids performed as well as in years past when they all performed separately. Maybe two of the classes together would have been ok, but all four of them was just too many in my opinion :) Nonetheless, we were so very proud of our Cade-o and look forward to his many performances to come!

Pictures we are so proud of...
Ok, so these are "pictures of pictures" (=not so great), but after we got Callie's one-year pictures back we were so proud of them! (Thanks, epc! Hope this is ok :) Here's what we framed for family & some for Howie's office...

Cade's 4-yr stats
Weight: 41 & 1/4 lbs
Height: 43 inches
(Note: According to pediatrician, this is the height of the average 5-year-old. Cade is on track, and has been since the age of 2, to be app. 6'2". Go, Cade!)
Vision: good
Hearing: excellent
(He was hil-ar-i-ous taking the hearing test and raising his hands when he heard beeps and on which side... I just sat there & giggled. He really tickled my funny bone :)
All other tests, etc, were great! According to his pediatrician, Cade is a very healthy boy! Hooray!

Church Christmas program
The children at church put on a Christmas play this year and did an excellent job! The moms that worked with the children to put this on did outstanding! We were very happy that Hudson & Cade both participated this year. They knew their songs well. Cade did have a little bit of an impromptu part the night of the show... There was another little girl a few seats down from him who was "busy" during some of their quiet times, so he decided to help his mom out (I was up there trying to help with the little ones) and remind her to "Be quiet!" She quickly sassed back to him, "No! YOU be quiet!" This went back & forth for 30 seconds or so (seemed like a lot longer!) before it fizzled out. Yes, it was somewhat embarrassing, but funny, too. You couldn't help but laugh at them. Two strong-willed preschoolers yelling at each other to be quiet during a church Christmas program... classic! ha!

Christmas recital
Hudson's music teacher decided to host a Christmas recital this year, and invited all of her students to participate. Hudson didn't hesitate in picking out his song, and promptly began working on playing it well & memorizing the piece. He was more nervous at this recital than in ones past, but he did a spectacular job playing JINGLE BELLS on his guitar for the large audience of family & friends that gathered. We were super-proud of him, and he was awfully proud of himself, too. Yes, these recitals can be long, but what's great about them is that everyone there - participants & audience all - wants everyone playing to do their best job!
